About the RoleWe are seeking a dedicated, resilient, and compassionate Behaviour Mentor to join our specialist SEN school in Southeast London. This is an exciting opportunity to support pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and learning difficulties.
The successful candidate will play a key role in helping students develop positive behaviours, emotional regulation skills, and confidence both inside and outside the classroom. You will work closely with teaching staff, therapists, parents, and external professionals to create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities*Provide 1:1 and small-group behaviour support for students with SEN needs.
*Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to promote engagement and participation.
*Support learners in managing challenging behaviours using restorative and trauma-informed approaches.
*Assist teachers in implementing Behaviour Support Plans and Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
*Help students develop emotional regulation, social skills, resilience, and independence.
*Monitor, record, and report on student progress and behavioural outcomes.
*Support pupils during transitions, break times, educational visits, and other school activities.
*Work collaboratively with families, safeguarding teams, therapists, and external agencies.
*Promote the school’s values of inclusion, respect, and achievement.
Must have enhanced DBS.
