Full job descriptionAre you an experienced CNC Vertical Lathe Setter/Operator who can confidently set, prove and operate CNC lathes while producing high-quality precision components This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established manufacturing business investing heavily in its machining capability and future growth. Working a four-day twilight shift, you’ll play a key role in producing precision aluminium components within a modern, quality-focused environment.
Responsibilities
*Set, prove and operate CNC Vertical Lathes.
*Read and interpret engineering drawings.
*Machine precision components to tight tolerances.
*Complete first-off inspections and in-process quality checks.
*Use micrometres, verniers, bore gauges and other measuring equipment.
*Monitor tooling performance and suggest process improvements.
*Record inspection results, downtime and scrap accurately.
*Support continuous improvement activities while maintaining high safety standards.
Skills & Knowledge Required
*Previous experience as a CNC Vertical Lathe Setter/Operator or CNC Lathe Setter.
*Ability to read engineering drawings confidently.
*Experience using precision measuring equipment.
*Good understanding of machining tolerances.
*Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
*Able to work independently and manage workload effectively.
*Proactive approach with pride in producing quality work.
*Experience with PUMA CNC machines would be advantageous but is not essential.
