Full job descriptionA council is looking for an interim Transactional Manager to lead the transactional finance team, covering accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, and payroll. This role is about steadying the team, getting processes running smoothly and training staff on already implemented processes.
Key Responsibilities
*Lead the Exchequer team, covering accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, and payroll.
*Manage a team, providing day-to-day guidance and motivation.
*Train and develop the team to bring performance up
*Follow and reinforce existing processes
*Build genuine trust and respect with the team, particularly given the interim nature of the role.
*Support the team through ongoing ERP teething problems.

*A genuine people person, comfortable motivating and developing a team through a difficult patch.
*Strong transactional finance experience: accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, and payroll.
*Someone who builds relationships and earns trust quickly, rather than someone looking to overhaul the team’s approach.
*Must have local government experience
