Nigel Wright are delighted to be supporting a growing FMCG business based in Trafford Park in their search for a Credit Control Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced credit professional to take ownership of the credit function, lead a growing team, and play a key role in managing cash flow within a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
The Role
You will be responsible for leading the credit control team and ensuring effective management of the sales ledger and debt recovery process.
Key responsibilities include:*Managing, mentoring and developing a team of Credit Controllers.
*Driving cash collection activity and reducing aged debt across a large customer base.
*Monitoring customer accounts, credit limits and exposure to minimise risk.
*Developing and implementing credit control procedures and best practices.
*Building strong relationships with key customers, ensuring prompt resolution of payment queries.
*Producing aged debt, cash collection and KPI reports for senior management.
*Working closely with Sales, Customer Service and Finance teams to resolve disputes efficiently.
*Managing escalated and complex customer accounts.
*Supporting cash flow forecasting and month-end reporting activities.
*Identifying opportunities to improve processes and increase team performance.
Person
*Previous experience in a Credit Control Manager, Credit Manager or Senior Credit Control role.
*Experience working within a high-volume transactional environment.
*Proven success in improving collections performance and reducing overdue debt.
*Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing teams.
*Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
*Strong analytical skills with good Excel and finance systems knowledge.
*A proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced business.
