Job Description:
Full job descriptionI’m currently recruiting on behalf of an established, high-tech manufacturing business for an experienced Facilities Engineer to join their site engineering and maintenance team.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a company operating in a highly regulated manufacturing environment, supporting critical plant, facilities, and production equipment to ensure maximum uptime, safety, and operational performance.
The Role
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you’ll play a key role in delivering planned preventative maintenance, responding to equipment breakdowns, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
The basic salary will be £35-£40k + 30% shift allowance on top of basic pay. The shifts are 7:30am-5:30pm 5 days and then 3 days off.
Key responsibilities include:
*Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across plant and facilities.
*Diagnosing and resolving mechanical faults to minimise downtime.
*Supporting basic electrical fault finding and maintenance activities.
*Ensuring all maintenance activities comply with health & safety and statutory requirements.
*Managing preventative maintenance schedules and accurately recording work completed.
*Working with external contractors and service providers where required.
*Supporting continuous improvement projects and implementing engineering best practices.
*Participating in an on-call rota to provide out-of-hours breakdown support.
About You
We’re looking for someone with a strong mechanical maintenance background who also has basic electrical maintenance experience. This role would suit an engineer who is confident working on mechanical systems while being comfortable carrying out first-line electrical fault finding and maintenance.
Ideally you’ll have:
*Experience within a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment.
*Strong mechanical maintenance and fault-finding skills.
*Basic electrical maintenance knowledge (motors, sensors, isolations, fault finding, etc.).
*Experience with planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.
*A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
*Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a maintenance team.
If you’re looking for a varied maintenance role within a stable and innovative manufacturing business, I’d be happy to discuss the opportunity in more detail.
