Pay Rate:
*£21.41 per hour PAYE
*£28.19 per hour Ltd/Umbrella
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Housing Resolutions Officer to join a busy Housing Needs and Homelessness service within a Wembley-based Local Authority. This is an ongoing temporary assignment offering an immediate start for the successful candidate.
The Role
The Housing Resolutions Officer will provide high-quality housing options advice and support to households living in temporary accommodation, helping them secure suitable long-term housing solutions. The successful candidate will work with homeless households, accommodation providers, landlords, and partner agencies to facilitate effective move-on arrangements and improve housing outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
*Provide tailored housing options advice to households residing in temporary accommodation.
*Promote and facilitate move-on opportunities into settled accommodation, including:
*Private Rented Sector (PRS)
*Social Housing
*Intermediate Housing Schemes
*Undertake suitability of accommodation reviews and investigations relating to fear of violence cases.
*Ensure all housing offers comply with relevant housing legislation and the Homelessness (Suitability of Accommodation) Order.
*Issue temporary accommodation offer letters and suitability decisions.
*Conduct visits to households in temporary accommodation, providing guidance on available housing options and managing expectations.
*Work closely with Housing Assessment and Lettings teams to monitor housing register bidding activity and support applicants in making informed housing choices.
*Signpost and refer clients to relevant support services including:
*Employment and training providers
*Adult Social Care
*Children’s Services
*Supported Housing providers
*Support households in managing the impact of welfare reform, including providing advice around benefits and employment opportunities.
*Work collaboratively with accommodation providers to resolve tenancy issues, complaints, and support needs.
*Contribute to tenancy audit programmes and related housing management initiatives.
*Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with statutory duties and service standards.
Candidate Requirements
*Previous experience working within Housing Options, Homelessness Prevention, Temporary Accommodation or Housing Needs services within a Local Authority.
*Strong understanding of homelessness legislation and housing law.
*Experience supporting homeless households and facilitating move-on into settled accommodation.
*Knowledge of suitability assessments, temporary accommodation management, and housing allocations processes.
*Ability to work effectively with vulnerable clients and multi-agency partners.
*Excellent communication, negotiation, and case management skills.
*Strong administration and report-writing abilities.
*Ability to manage a busy caseload and prioritise competing demands
