Are you an enthusiastic and confident Food Technology Cover Supervisor looking for your next opportunity in Birmingham?
Our education recruitment agency is currently working with a welcoming and well-resourced secondary school in Birmingham to recruit a dedicated Food Technology Cover Supervisor for a full-time position, five days per week.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive school where you’ll help ensure continuity of learning within the Food Technology department by supervising practical and theory lessons during teacher absences.
The Role*Supervise Food Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 using pre-prepared lesson plans.
*Ensure students remain engaged and complete the work set by the class teacher.
*Support practical cooking lessons while maintaining high standards of health and safety.
*Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school’s policies.
*Provide feedback to teaching staff on student engagement, behaviour, and lesson outcomes.
The Ideal Candidate*Experience working with young people in a school or educational setting is desirable.
*Previous experience in Food Technology, catering, hospitality, or a related field would be an advantage.
*Confident managing groups of students in both classroom and practical environments.
*Strong communication, organisational, and behaviour management skills.
*A current enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
