Full job descriptionSEN Teacher / SEND Teacher – Make a Lasting Difference
We are seeking a committed and compassionate SEN Teacher to join a specialist or inclusive school setting, supporting pupils with a wide range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
This role is ideal for a teacher who is passionate about inclusive education, individualised learning, and improving outcomes for children with complex needs.
The Role
As an SEN Teacher, you will:
Plan and deliver differentiated, personalised lessons tailored to individual learning needs
Support pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC/ASD), SEMH, ADHD, learning difficulties, speech and language needs, and complex behaviours
Implement and review EHCP targets, Individual Education Plans (IEPs), and personalised support strategies
Use trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches to support emotional regulation and engagement
Create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
Work closely with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, therapists, and external professionals
Monitor progress, assess learning, and adapt teaching to meet pupils’ needs
The Ideal Candidate
We welcome applications from teachers who:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (or equivalent)
Have experience teaching pupils with SEND, SEMH, or complex learning needs
Are confident managing challenging behaviour using positive behaviour support
Have strong knowledge of SEND legislation, EHCPs, and inclusive practice
Are patient, resilient, and passionate about supporting vulnerable learners
Have experience in special schools, alternative provision, PRUs, or SEN units (desirable but not essential)
