Full job descriptionWe are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Financial Controller to oversee financial control activities across manufacturing operations, with a strong focus on inventory and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) accounting. A hands-on finance professional is required with deep expertise in inventory, who can strengthen controls, improve processes, and provide meaningful financial insight to support operational decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
*Own inventory and COGS accounting, ensuring accuracy and integrity of reporting.
*Manage month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial controls.
*Analyse manufacturing costs, standard costing, stock valuation, and production variances.
*Partner with operations and supply chain teams to improve inventory accuracy and profitability.
*Lead process improvement initiatives across finance and manufacturing functions.
*Act as the key contact for external auditors on inventory and manufacturing accounting matters.
Requirements
*Qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA (or qualified by experience).
*Strong manufacturing finance background.
*Significant experience in inventory accounting and COGS reporting.
*Experience with external audits and financial controls.
*Strong process improvement and business partnering skills.
*Advanced Excel and ERP system experience.
Desirable
*Big 4 audit training.
*Experience within a complex manufacturing environment.
*Knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP
