Full job descriptionAre you an organised and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant looking for your next opportunity? We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing business seeking a proactive finance professional to join their friendly finance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in a varied accounts role who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering accurate financial administration and excellent customer service.
The Role
Reporting into the Finance Director, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day finance function, ensuring the smooth operation of purchase ledger, sales ledger and credit control activities.
Key responsibilities include:
*Processing customer and supplier invoices accurately and efficiently
*Maintaining purchase and sales ledger records
*Collecting monthly direct debit payments
*Allocating customer receipts and reconciling accounts
*Preparing supplier payment runs
*Managing credit control activities, including monitoring outstanding balances and chasing overdue payments
*Maintaining accurate customer and supplier account records
*Supporting month-end processes and the preparation of management accounts
*Processing financial data using the company’s accounting system
*Managing the finance inbox and responding to customer and supplier enquiries
*Liaising with internal departments to resolve account queries
*Providing general administrative support to the finance team
About You
We’re looking for someone who has:
*A minimum of 2 years’ experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar finance role
*Experience working across purchase ledger, sales ledger and credit control
*Strong attention to detail and excellent accuracy
*Good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads
*Excellent numerical and problem-solving abilities
*Confident written and verbal communication skills
*Experience using accounting software and Microsoft Excel
*The ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team
*A proactive, flexible and customer-focused approach
*The ability to handle confidential financial information with professionalism and discretion
