Location(s): Cheltenham, Bristol, Cardiff – United Kingdom
Number of Openings: 1
Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 per annum (GBP)
Job Responsibilities*Lead and oversee all tax aspects of corporate M&A transactions, including due diligence, structuring, and post-deal integration.
*Provide commercial-focused tax advice to senior stakeholders on deal strategy, financing, and risk management.
*Coordinate with legal, finance, and business teams to ensure tax efficiency and compliance throughout the transaction lifecycle.
*Manage the preparation and review of tax filings, disclosures, and reporting associated with M&A activities.
*Monitor and interpret changes in UK tax legislation and assess their impact on current and future deals.
*Develop and maintain robust tax models to evaluate deal economics and identify potential tax savings.
*Mentor and supervise junior tax staff, fostering a high-performing and collaborative team environment.
*Represent the organisation in external negotiations and liaise with tax authorities, advisers, and auditors as required.
Essential Qualifications*Qualified tax professional (e.g., Chartered Tax Adviser – CTA) or equivalent certification.
*Strong knowledge of UK corporate tax, capital gains tax, and international tax principles.
*Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
*Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple high-value transactions simultaneously.
*Proficiency in tax research tools, Excel modelling, and relevant tax software.
Desired Experience*5–7 years of experience in tax advisory or in-house tax roles focusing on M&A and deal structuring.
*Proven track record of delivering tax-efficient solutions in complex corporate transactions.
*Experience within a professional services firm, multinational corporation, or private-equity environment.
*Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional project teams and manage stakeholder expectations.
*International exposure or experience with cross-border transactions is a plus.
