Full job descriptionI’m currently working on behalf of a leading Lloyd’s Syndicate to appoint an Underwriting Assistant into one of the highest-performing Energy underwriting teams in the market.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious Underwriting Assistant or Underwriting Technician looking to accelerate their career within a business renowned for developing talent from within.

You’ll be joining a collaborative, high-performing team, working directly alongside experienced Underwriters and gaining exposure to a complex, global Energy portfolio. This role offers genuine responsibility from day one and an excellent platform to progress your underwriting career.

Key responsibilities include:
Supporting Underwriters across the day-to-day management of the Energy portfolio.
Risk entry, rating and exposure management.
Liaising with brokers and building strong market relationships.
Producing portfolio reports and supporting business planning.
Working closely with Underwriting Support to maintain exceptional data quality.
Developing a strong technical understanding of Energy underwriting within the Lloyd’s market.

I’m particularly interested in speaking with candidates who have:
* Around 18 months+ experience within the London Market (Underwriting Assistant, Underwriting Technician or similar).
* Excellent attention to detail and strong numerical ability.
* A proactive attitude with a genuine desire to build a long-term underwriting career.
* Strong Excel skills and excellent communication skills.
* An interest in the Energy insurance market.
