UP TO £35,000 DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE
SOUTH WEST LONDON
TEMP TO PERM ROLE – FULL TIME-OFFICE BASED
I am currently recruiting for a Finance Officer to join a busy organisation within the Education sector. This role is initially being offered on a temporary basis, with the possibility of becoming a permanent position for the right candidate.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and has strong accounts payable and financial administration experience. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the organisation, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Finance
*To work as part of the Finance team to support the timely and accurate processing of orders, invoices and payments and the monthly reconciliation process
*To be accountable for the computerised Xero system in order to:
*Raise purchase orders and place with suppliers once approved
*Match invoices with purchase orders and process for payment
*Set up new suppliers
*Create weekly BACS payment runs
*Assist with monthly reconciliation of non-staffing budget expenditure with the schools’ bank account
*Process petty cash payments
*Process journals for printing costs and IT resources ½ termly
*Produce appropriate charges for curriculum and administrative stationery provided to departments
*Produce ½ termly statements for budget holders
*Liaise with suppliers and budget holders in the above regard
*Investigate and resolve any queries as a result of the above
*Support the Interim Finance Director with the administration of specific accounts
*Relevant filing and record keeping
Administration
*As directed by the Finance Manager/Director of Finance, provide administrative support to facilitate the work of the school’s administrative function.
*To undertake office administration tasks such as taking telephone calls and enquiries; sending communications home; issuing lunch cards
*To assist the Interim Finance Director with ad hoc tasks as and when required.
Person Specification:
*Previous experience in a Finance Officer, Finance Assistant, Accounts Payable or similar finance position within the education sector.
*Proven experience using both PS Financials and Xero.
*Experience processing invoices, purchase orders, supplier payments and reconciliations.
*Strong Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with financial data
*Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
*The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
*Strong communication skills and a professional approach when dealing with stakeholders.
*A high level of discretion and the ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
