Job Description:
Full job descriptionWe are recruiting on behalf of a leading international law firm for an experienced Senior Legal Secretary to join its highly regarded Private Equity team in London. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a fast-paced, collaborative environment, providing high-level support to partners, counsel, associates, and trainees.
Fluency in both French and English (spoken, written, and reading) is essential for this role.
As a key member of the team, you will provide proactive secretarial and administrative support, ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of a busy practice. Your responsibilities will include:
Key Responsibilities
*Managing busy and complex diaries, arranging meetings, and resolving scheduling conflicts.
*Preparing, formatting, amending, and proofreading legal documents, presentations, and correspondence.
*Monitoring and managing fee earner inboxes, ensuring emails are actioned and filed appropriately.
*Assisting with the billing process and liaising closely with the Finance team.
*Supporting the opening of new clients and matters, including conflict checks and engagement documentation.
*Organising international travel and preparing detailed travel itineraries.
*Maintaining and updating contact databases and CRM systems.
*Managing electronic and hard copy filing systems to ensure records are accurate and up to date.
*Processing time entries and expense claims where required.
*Handling telephone calls and correspondence professionally and efficiently.
*Coordinating document production tasks, including scanning, printing, and binding.
*Providing support with business development activities and maintaining strong working relationships with clients and internal teams.
*Collaborating with colleagues across the wider business support function and contributing to a positive team environment.
About You
*Previous experience supporting partners within a legal environment.
*Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken.
*Strong IT skills, with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
*Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
*A proactive, professional, and flexible approach, with excellent attention to detail.
*A collaborative team player with strong communication and relationship-building skills.
