People Solutions are currently recruiting for Farm and Poultry Production Operatives to join our well-established client based in North Kilworth, near Lutterworth.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a specialist farming operation producing high-quality free-range poultry on a full-time, ongoing basis.
No previous farming or food production experience is required as full training will be provided. This position would suit applicants looking for a role as an Agricultural Worker, Food Production Operative, or Farm Assistant.
There may also be an opportunity to secure a permanent full-time position after successfully completing the initial 12 weeks, subject to performance, attendance, and business requirements.
Rates of Pay:
*£13.21 per hour
Shift Pattern:
*Monday to Friday
*Usually 7:00am to 4:00pm
*Start and finish times may occasionally vary depending on farm and production requirements
*Flexibility regarding working hours is required
Important Transport Requirement:
*The farm is located in a rural area and cannot be reached reliably by public transport
*Applicants must have access to their own car or another reliable private vehicle
*Applicants must be able to travel to and from the farm independently for a 7:00am start
*A valid driving licence is required where applicable
*Please do not apply if you are dependent on public transport to reach the workplace

Day-to-Day Duties:
As a Farm and Poultry Production Operative, you will work:
*Feeding and caring for poultry
*Monitoring animal welfare and reporting any concerns
*Maintaining poultry housing, equipment, and outdoor areas
*Cleaning sheds, pens, and other farm facilities
*Moving feed, bedding, equipment, and supplies
*Completing general farm maintenance and manual tasks
*Supporting colleagues with the daily operation of the farm
*Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and animal welfare
*Cutting and portioning prepared poultry
*Trimming and preparing different poultry cuts
*Weighing, packing, and labelling products
*Preparing customer orders
*Cleaning and sanitising equipment and work areas
*Following food hygiene and health and safety procedures
Important Information:
*Workers recruited for this position will not be involved in slaughtering or killing animals
*Applicants must be comfortable handling prepared poultry, cutting poultry portions, and working with raw meat during the food production element of the role
Essential Skills:
To be successful as a Farm and Poultry Production Operative, you will need:
*Access to a reliable vehicle and the ability to travel independently to the workplace
*Be comfortable working with animals and raw poultry products
*Be prepared to work outdoors in different weather conditions
*Be physically fit and capable of carrying out practical manual work
*Be reliable, punctual, and hardworking
*Be comfortable working as part of a small team
*Be able to follow instructions and maintain high standards
*Be willing to complete cleaning and hygiene duties
*Be flexible regarding working hours when required
Desirable Experience:
*Previous experience in farming
