An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Service Centre Officer to join a large Higher Education Institution on a temporary basis. You will play a key role in supporting the finance team with finance queries and will advise colleagues on the correct processes. This is a finance role with a large element of customer service attached.


Key Responsibilities


*Acting as the first point of contact for finance queries, providing professional and timely support to internal departments
*Delivering a measurable helpdesk service with a focus on customer service and first-time resolution
*Checking and processing expense documents, including multicurrency general expenses for casual workers, visiting lecturers, clinical trials, student claim and hardship funds
*Advising colleagues on the correct forms and processes to follow and ensuring submissions comply with finance regulations
*Identifying and rejecting non-compliant claims (e.g. missing receipts, incorrect forms, incomplete bank details)
*Verifying information in the finance system, including bank details and setting up new accounts when required
*Handling queries received via the helpdesk system, email, phone and MS Teams
*Assisting the finance team in other queries
*Assisting with reciliations and general finance admin




Ideal Candidate Profile
*Extensive customer service experience
*Experience working as part of a finance team
*Excellent organisational skills
*Previous experience working in a fast paced environment
*Good system skills including Excel


Location: Central London
Working Pattern: Hybrid (2 days pw on site)
Hourly Rate: £23.80 per hour PAYE
Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week
Contract: 6-month initial contract, with potential extension
