Head of Finance – RetailCheshire | Circa £85,000 + Benefits | Office-Based
Are you a commercially minded finance leader who understands the pace, complexity and opportunity of the retail sector?
I’m partnering with a successful retail business in Cheshire to recruit an experienced Head of Finance. This is a high-profile opportunity to join the senior leadership team, influence business performance and work closely with the Group CFO.
The roleYou will take ownership of the finance function, combining strong technical leadership with commercial insight. Key responsibilities will include:
*Leading monthly and annual financial reporting, including insightful commentary and board packs
*Ensuring statutory accounts, returns and filings comply with UK GAAP and relevant deadlines
*Managing relationships with auditors, HMRC, banking partners and investors
*Providing commercial and strategic support to the wider business and Group CFO
*Leading, mentoring and developing a small finance team
*Driving finance improvement projects, strengthening controls and improving processes
*Delivering clear financial insight to support confident, informed decision-making
About youYou will be:
*A fully qualified accountant — ACA, ACCA or CIMA
*An established senior finance leader with significant post-qualified experience
*Currently operating at Head of Finance or Finance Director level
*Able to demonstrate a strong track record within the retail sector — this is essential
*Technically strong, commercially astute and confident influencing senior stakeholders
*An engaging leader who can develop a team while remaining hands-on when required

Salary: Circa £85,000 plus benefits
