About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and conscientious Test Engineer to join our team. This position has arisen due to a planned retirement, and we are looking for someone to join us before the end of the year to allow for a comprehensive handover and knowledge transfer.
This is a varied role that combines electrical testing, quality assurance, and inspection activities within a busy manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will play a key part in ensuring the quality, safety, and performance of our products before they reach our customers.
Key Responsibilities
*Electrical testing and inspection of electrical control panels
*Carrying out live testing activities safely and accurately
*Testing of motors and cable assemblies, including large batch testing
*Identifying and resolving faults and non-conformances
*Ensuring products meet company and customer quality standards
*Maintaining accurate test records and documentation
*Assisting with quality assurance and continuous improvement activities
*Conducting mechanical inspections where required
*Working closely with engineering, production, and quality teams
About You
We are looking for a practical and detail-oriented individual with a strong electrical engineering background.
Essential
*Experience in electrical testing and inspection
*Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
*Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
*Good understanding of electrical safety procedures
*High attention to detail and quality standards
*Excellent communication and organisational skills
Desirable
*Experience testing control panels
*Inspection and quality assurance experience within a manufacturing environment
*Electrical qualifications (City & Guilds, NVQ, HNC/HND or equivalent)
*Mechanical inspection experience
