About the Role
We are currently seeking a friendly, organised, and professional Reception Administrator to join a busy GP Surgery on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong customer service and administrative skills who enjoys working in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
As the first point of contact for patients, you will play a key role in providing a welcoming and efficient service while supporting the day-to-day administration of the practice.
Key Responsibilities
*Greeting patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
*Answering incoming telephone calls and responding to enquiries.
*Booking, amending, and cancelling patient appointments.
*Managing patient records and updating information accurately.
*Handling sensitive and confidential information in line with GDPR guidelines.
*Processing incoming and outgoing correspondence.
*Supporting clinicians and practice staff with administrative tasks.
*Liaising with patients, healthcare professionals, and external organisations.
*Maintaining a tidy and welcoming reception area.
Requirements
*Previous reception or administration experience, ideally within a healthcare, medical, or customer-facing environment.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
*Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
*Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure.
*Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
*A professional, empathetic, and patient-focused approach.
*Knowledge of GP systems such as EMIS or SystmOne would be advantageous but is not essential.
