Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day financial transactions and maintain accurate financial records. The successful candidate will be responsible for recording financial data, reconciling accounts, processing invoices, and supporting the wider finance function to ensure compliance and accuracy while working closely with the directors.
Key Responsibilities
*Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers.
*Preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports
*Completing year-end accounts
*Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
*Reconcile bank statements and company accounts.
*Prepare and issue invoices, credit notes, and payment reminders.
*Monitor cash flow and report any discrepancies.
*Process employee expenses and support payroll activities. Including CIS payments
*Prepare VAT returns and assist with statutory reporting requirements.
*Maintain supplier and customer records.
*Ensure financial data is kept confidential and complies with company policies.
*Administration duties relating to fleet vehicles.
Skills and Experience
Essential
*Previous experience in a bookkeeping or finance role.
*Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
*Proficiency in accounting software e.g. Sage 50
*Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
*Strong organisational and time-management skills.
*Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Desirable
*ACCA qualification or equivalent.
*Experience within a fast-paced commercial environment.
*Knowledge of payroll processes and VAT regulations.
