SEND Administrative Assistant Location: Wolverhampton (Civic Centre or other suitable City location)
Hours: Full Time
Are you an organised and customer-focused administrator looking for an opportunity to make a real difference to children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?
We are looking for a dedicated SEND Administrative Assistant to join our Special Educational Needs Statutory Assessment and Review Team (SENSTART). This is a rewarding role at the heart of a vital service, supporting the administration of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and helping ensure children and young people receive the support they need.
About the RoleAs a SEND Administrative Assistant, you will provide high-quality administrative and customer service support to the SENSTART team. Working closely with colleagues, families, schools and professionals, you will help ensure statutory processes are delivered efficiently, accurately and sensitively.
Key Responsibilities*Maintain accurate records of children and young people with SEND using case management systems and SharePoint.
*Support the coordination of Education, Health and Care (EHC) needs assessments, annual reviews and decision-making panels.
*Prepare and distribute correspondence, reports and documentation.
*Act as a point of contact for enquiries from families, schools, SEND officers and other professionals.
*Update and maintain data systems, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality at all times.
*Provide administrative support for meetings, including tracking actions and outcomes.
*Work collaboratively with colleagues to support service delivery and continuous improvement.
About YouWe are looking for someone who is:
*Organised, accurate and able to manage a varied workload.
*Experienced in working within a busy office environment.
*Confident using IT systems, databases and Microsoft Office applications.
*A strong communicator with excellent written and verbal English skills.
*Able to provide excellent customer service, including responding sensitively to challenging or emotional situations.
*Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
*Interested in supporting children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.
Essential Qualifications*GCSE English and Mathematics (Grade A-C/4-9) or equivalent.
*Recognised IT qualification or equivalent experience.
*NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration (or equivalent), working towards this qualification, or willingness to achieve it within an agreed timescale.
