Salary: Circa £30,900 per annum
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced External Works Operative to join a well-established social housing maintenance contractor. This role is ideal for a skilled tradesperson who takes pride in delivering high-quality repairs and maintenance, helping to keep homes safe, secure and well maintained.
The Role
The External Works Operative will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of external maintenance and repair works, including:
*Fencing repairs and installations
*Brickwork and minor masonry repairs
*Groundworks and external hard landscaping
*Roofing and roofline repairs
*Guttering, fascias and soffits
*Diagnosing repairs and identifying associated works
*Completing pre-inspections where required
*Recording completed works, materials and job information using a handheld device
*Maintaining high standards of health and safety at all times
Requirements
*Proven experience carrying out external repairs and maintenance within domestic properties, ideally in the social housing sector
*Strong skills in fencing, brickwork, roofing, roofline repairs, guttering and groundworks
*The ability to diagnose repair issues and identify effective solutions
*Experience working safely at height and using power tools and appropriate PPE
*The ability to manage their own workload and consistently deliver work to a high standard
*Good communication and customer service skills
*Confidence using handheld technology to record work and job information
*The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
*A full UK driving licence
*The ability to pass a basic DBS check
