Location: Leicester City Centre, LE1
Pay: £16.50 per hour, paid weekly via PAYE
Hours: 09:00am - 5:30pm, Monday to Friday (40 hours per week, 30-minute unpaid lunch)
Contract: Temporary, ASAP start until late Septemeber (possibility of extension)
Join a Busy Summer Turnaround Team
We’re recruiting a Summer Maintenance Operative to support a leading student accommodation provider during the crucial summer turnaround period.
This is a hands-on role focused on preparing accommodation for the new academic year, ensuring rooms and communal areas are maintained to a high standard for incoming students and summer guests. If you have maintenance experience and enjoy practical work in a fast-paced environment, we’d love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
*Carry out general maintenance and repair work across the site
*Assist with room refreshes and preparation for new residents
*Support move-in activities, including occasional heavy lifting
*Complete basic plumbing, painting and decorating tasks
*Undertake paint work, mastic work and replacements
*Perform routine safety checks and ensure compliance with health and safety standards
*Work collaboratively with the Maintenance Technician team and wider site staff
*Help deliver a positive experience for residents and guests
About You
*Previous experience in residential maintenance, facilities, property maintenance or a trade such as plumbing or carpentry
*Practical, hands-on approach with good attention to detail
*Positive attitude and strong team-working skills
*Flexible and proactive, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities
*Good communication skills and a professional manner
*Trade qualifications are advantageous but not essential
