Full job descriptionWe’re partnering with an award-winning design and manufacturing business that is looking for an experienced Product Development Designer to support a major automotive project during a busy period.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a technically driven designer with exceptional SolidWorks skills and a passion for creating innovative retail display, furniture and joinery solutions from concept through to manufacture.
The Role- Develop bespoke products from concept to manufacture-ready designs- Produce detailed 3D models, SolidWorks assemblies and engineering drawing packs- Design cost-effective, manufacturable solutions for prototype and rollout programmes- Create technical drawings, general arrangement drawings and presentation visuals- Work across bespoke furniture, retail displays, joinery, sheet metal and fabricated components- Collaborate with internal design, project management and manufacturing teams
About You- 3+ years’ experience within Product Development, Technical Design or Design Engineering- Expert user of SolidWorks with excellent design for manufacture knowledge- Strong technical understanding of joinery, timber, sheet metal and fabricated metalwork- Experience within retail display, furniture, shopfitting or interior fit-out is essential- Highly detail-oriented with the ability to produce comprehensive technical drawing packs ready for manufacture- AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite experience would be advantageous
What’s on Offer- Initial 3+ month contract with potential for extension- Office-based in Huddersfield (Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm)- Competitive rate depending on experience
