The Opportunity
Prospero Teaching is recruiting motivated Functional Skills Tutors to provide high-quality 1:1 tuition across Chester.
You’ll support learners studying Functional Skills English and Maths, helping them build confidence, develop practical skills and work towards recognised qualifications. This flexible role offers the opportunity to make a real difference through personalised teaching.
Position Details
* Location: Chester
* Position: Functional Skills Tutor
* Hours: 5-15 hours per week
* Start Date: September 2026
* Duration: Ongoing
Experience, Training and Qualifications
We’re looking for tutors who have:
* Experience delivering Functional Skills English and/or Maths
* Teaching or tutoring experience
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* A learner-focused approach
To be eligible, you must:
* Hold the Right to Work in the UK
* Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one
* Provide two professional references
