Cover People are recruiting a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist primary setting in Trafford. This rewarding role involves supporting children aged 3–11 with a range of complex SEND needs, with a particular focus on pupils with Autism and social communication difficulties. The school provides a highly personalised curriculum, small class sizes and a nurturing environment where every child is supported to achieve their full potential.
The Role:*Support pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition and associated communication needs.
*Deliver 1:1 and small-group interventions tailored to individual EHCP targets.
*Use visual supports, structured routines and communication strategies to promote engagement.
*Support the development of social, emotional and independence skills.
*Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and families to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
*Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.
The Ideal Candidate:*Previous experience working with children with Autism and SEND.
*Knowledge of communication strategies such as PECS, Makaton or visual timetables is desirable.
*A patient, calm and nurturing approach.
*Strong communication and teamwork skills.
*A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
