Are you an experienced Buyer looking to join a growing and fast-paced engineering environment where you’ll have genuine opportunities to develop and progress?
We’re recruiting for multiple Buyer positions on behalf of a highly successful manufacturing and engineering organisation based in Newport. Due to business growth and several recent departures, the company is investing heavily in its procurement function and is looking to strengthen its team with talented procurement professionals.
These opportunities would suit Buyers with experience in Mechanical, Electrical, OEM or Project Purchasing, although candidates with a mix of these backgrounds are also encouraged to apply.
The Role
As a Buyer, you’ll play a key role in managing supplier relationships, ensuring product availability, driving cost-saving initiatives and supporting engineering-led projects in a highly dynamic environment.
Key responsibilities include:
*Raising and managing purchase orders
*Supplier negotiation on cost, quality and delivery
*Managing engineering and specification changes
*Delivering cost-saving initiatives and value improvements
*Monitoring supplier performance and delivery schedules
*Working closely with engineering and other internal stakeholders
*Managing high-value supplier accounts
*Supporting warranty and rework projects
*Producing procurement data and reports for management meeting
*Occasional UK and European supplier visits as required
What We’re Looking For
*Experience within Mechanical, Electrical, OEM or Technical Procurement
*Strong supplier management and negotiation skills
*Experience working within a fast-paced manufacturing or engineering environment
*Knowledge of engineering drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
*Excellent organisational and stakeholder management skills
*The ability to adapt to changing priorities and business demands

The Package
*£38,000 - £41,000 salary
*Consistent annual bonus of 10-12%
*Consideration for more junior candidates at £35,000 - £37,000
*Hybrid working available after probation
