Job Description:
Full job descriptionSenior Tax Associate / Tax Manager - Tax Advisory
The Role
Our client is expanding its tax advisory team and is seeking a Senior Tax Associate or Tax Manager to join its Liverpool office.
This is a pure tax advisory role, focused on supporting owner-managed businesses (OMBs) and high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs). There is no routine compliance work, allowing you to focus on delivering high-quality tax advice and developing your technical expertise.
The position can be tailored to suit either an experienced Manager or a strong Senior Associate looking to progress.
Key Responsibilities:
*Deliver tax advisory assignments for OMBs and HNWIs from initial scoping through to final recommendations.
*Advise on areas including:
*Company reorganisations and restructurings
*Share schemes and employee incentives
*Holding company structures
*Inheritance tax and succession planning
*Capital gains tax and business transactions
*Conduct technical research and apply UK tax legislation, HMRC guidance and case law.
*Prepare clear, well-structured reports and recommendations.
*Build and manage client relationships, acting as a trusted adviser.
*Identify planning opportunities and support wider business development initiatives.
*Manage engagements to budget and deadlines.
At Manager level, you will also:
*Take ownership of advisory projects from scoping to delivery.
*Review and develop junior team members.
*Assist with fee proposals and engagement planning.
About You:
*CTA and/or ACA/ACCA qualified, or part-qualified with strong progression towards qualification.
*Experience working with OMBs, HNWIs, or in a corporate tax environment.
*Strong technical knowledge in one or more areas such as restructurings, share schemes, IHT planning, CGT, property taxation, or residence and domicile matters.
*Excellent report-writing, analytical and communication skills.
*Able to manage a varied workload with minimal supervision.
*Previous experience reviewing junior staff and preparing fee proposals would be advantageous.
What’s on Offer
*A genuinely advisory-focused role with exposure to complex tax planning work.
*Direct access to senior leadership and experienced tax professionals.
*Clear career progression within a growing tax team.
*Study support for candidates working towards CTA, ACA or ACCA qualifications.
*Investment in technology and AI tools to support efficient delivery of advisory work.
*Competitive salary and benefits package, dependent on experience and level.
