The Opportunity

Are you an experienced CNC Machinist / Programmer looking to work on complex, high-precision aerospace components?

We are recruiting for a skilled CNC Machinist / Programmer to join a leading aerospace manufacturing business based in Castle Donington. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a highly skilled machine shop, manufacturing precision components for the aerospace industry while working with the latest multi-axis CNC technology.

You’ll be involved in both new product introduction (NPI) and established production programmes, working closely with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to deliver high-quality components in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities*Set, operate and program 5-axis CNC milling machines.
*Manufacture complex, high-precision aerospace components to tight tolerances.
*Select appropriate tooling, cutting strategies, feeds and speeds to maximise efficiency.
*Interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T.
*Carry out in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment.
*Work closely with Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering to support NPI projects.
*Optimise machining processes to improve cycle times and productivity.
*Support continuous improvement initiatives across the machine shop.
*Perform routine machine maintenance and TPM activities.
*Maintain high standards of quality, housekeeping and 5S.
*Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures.
What We’re Looking For*Previous experience as a CNC Machinist / Programmer within aerospace, motorsport or another precision engineering environment.
*Strong experience with 5-axis CNC milling machines.
*Knowledge of CNC programming using ISO or Fanuc controls.
*Ability to read complex engineering drawings and understand GD&T.
*Experience machining high-performance or exotic materials.
*Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing right-first-time components.
*Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
*Able to work independently while contributing effectively within a team.
