Are you passionate about sport, fitness, and helping people achieve their goals? Reed further education is working with a college in Cambridge are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Sports Centre Assistant to join a busy sports and fitness facility on a part-time, permanent basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Fitness Instructor who enjoys working in a varied role, supporting gym users, delivering fitness classes, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of a sports centre.
*Salary £24,577 - £25,192 per annum (pro rata) plus excellent staff benefits.
*Working Hours 12 hours per week Tuesday and Friday 4:00pm to 10:30pm
*Permanent contract
The Role
As a Sports Centre Assistant, you will be a key member of the team, providing a welcoming environment for students, staff, and members of the public while maintaining high standards of safety, cleanliness, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
*Deliver fitness classes to a range of users.
*Conduct gym inductions and tours.
*Supervise gym users and promote safe use of equipment.
*Set up, dismantle, and store sports equipment safely.
*Carry out front-of-house and reception duties.
*Assist with fitness and sports promotions.
*Maintain high standards of health, safety, and cleanliness.
*Undertake routine facility checks and building patrols.
*Provide excellent customer service at all times.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
*Level 2 Fitness Instructor or Gym Qualification.
*Experience working in a customer-facing environment.
*Strong communication and customer service skills.
*Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
*Ability to work independently and use your own initiative.
*A reliable, flexible, and professional approach.
*Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
Desirable
*First Aid at Work qualification.
*Experience within a sports, leisure, or fitness environment.
*Experience delivering fitness classes.
*Additional fitness qualifications such as Circuits, Boxfit, or Studio Cycling.
