Job Description:
Full job descriptionA law enforcement organisation based in Lancashire is seeking any organised and analytical Intelligence Support Officer to join its Divisional Intelligence Unit.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in supporting operational policing by researching, developing and evaluating intelligence that helps inform decision-making, direct resources and tackle crime across the force area.

This is an initial 3-month contract position with potential to be extended based in Burnley with an hourly rate of £13.84 + holiday pay and benefits. Due to the nature of the role the successful candidate will need to undergo the relevant police vetting to start in the role.
Key Responsibilities
*Assist in delivering an effective intelligence service within the Divisional Intelligence Unit.
*Research, develop and action information and intelligence to support operational policing activities.
*Receive, assess and record intelligence, ensuring compliance with Data Protection and Management of Police Information (MoPI) principles.
*Maintain intelligence systems and databases to ensure records remain accurate and up to date.
*Develop intelligence briefings and reports to support operational planning and decision-making.
*Analyse information to identify patterns, trends, risks and links between individuals, groups and incidents.
*Handle sensitive, restricted and confidential intelligence appropriately and securely.
*Respond to intelligence-related queries and provide guidance to internal stakeholders.
*Liaise with police officers, staff, partner agencies and other police forces to support effective information sharing.
*Attend intelligence meetings and contribute intelligence assessments to help inform tasking and operational priorities.
*Produce management information and analytical products to support force objectives.
*Undertake a range of administrative duties to support the efficient running of the Intelligence Unit.
Essential Skills & Experience
*Experience researching and interrogating computer systems and databases.
*Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret information and identify patterns, trends and risks.
*Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when collecting, recording and managing information.
*Experience evaluating, assessing and disseminating information or intelligence.
*Experience maintaining computerised recording systems and databases.
*Experience working with confidential or sensitive information within a demanding environment.
*Strong decision-making skills and the ability to take appropriate action when required.
*Experience working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
*Experience producing written reports, briefings and presentations to support decision-making.
*Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Teams and SharePoint.
*Knowledge of the National Intelligence Model (NIM) and the 3x5x2 intelligence grading system.
