Job Description:
Full job descriptionA law enforcement organisation based in Lancashire is seeking a Force Intelligence Team Leader to join the Force Intelligence Bureau (FIB) at Headquarters.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead and support a team responsible for the collection, evaluation, development and dissemination of intelligence that directly supports operational policing, safeguarding and the prevention and detection of crime.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring intelligence is managed effectively, supporting the delivery of high-quality National Intelligence Model (NIM) products whilst helping to maintain a comprehensive and accurate intelligence picture across the Constabulary.
This is an initial 3-month contract position with potential to be extended based in Preston with an hourly rate of £15.48 + holiday pay and benefits. Due to the nature of the role the successful candidate will need to undergo the relevant police vetting to start in the role.
Key Responsibilities
*Support the Detective Sergeant in managing the day-to-day operation of the Intelligence Hub.
*Supervise and prioritise the workload of Intelligence Officers, ensuring compliance with national and force policies.
*Manage and process requests for information from other police forces and external agencies.
*Assess threat, risk and harm considerations when handling intelligence and information disclosures.
*Receive, evaluate, develop and disseminate intelligence from a wide range of sources.
*Conduct intelligence research using specialist law enforcement databases and systems.
*Maintain responsibility for thematic intelligence areas, including national and international intelligence requests.
*Produce and analyse management information and performance data.
*Support the development of staff knowledge, capability and best practice across the team.
*Manage departmental mailboxes and ensure all intelligence submissions are handled appropriately.
*Build and maintain effective relationships with internal departments, partner agencies and external organisations.
*Provide advice and guidance on intelligence-related matters.
*Support Operational Intelligence Cells and major policing operations when required.
*Deliver presentations and intelligence briefings to a variety of audiences.

*Demonstrable leadership skills and the ability to work effectively within a multifunctional team.
*Experience using specialist databases and intelligence systems.
*Experience researching, evaluating and disseminating intelligence.
*Knowledge and experience of the National Intelligence Model (NIM) and the 5x5x5 intelligence grading system.
*Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify patterns, trends and emerging risks.
*Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records.
*Experience making informed decisions and taking appropriate action.
*Experience working collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
*Ability to deliver presentations and briefings to a variety of audiences.
*Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet demanding deadlines.
*Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications and other digital systems.
*Working knowledge of:
*Data Protection legislation
*RIPA
*Human Rights legislation
*Home Office guidance relating to information sharing and intelligence management
*Management of Police Information (MoPI)
