Job Description:
Full job descriptionAre you a qualified accountant with experience preparing statutory and management accounts? Do you enjoy managing multiple entities or clients simultaneously? Looking for a role offering a genuine pathway towards senior finance leadership?
We’re delighted to be supporting a well-established not-for-profit organisation in the recruitment of a Senior Accountant. Managing a portfolio of organisations, you’ll take responsibility for their financial reporting requirements whilst managing and developing two Accountants within the team.
Key responsibilities include:
*Preparing quarterly management accounts across a portfolio of clients
*Taking a leading role in statutory accounts preparation, working across multiple year-end timetables
*Leading budgeting processes and contributing to longer-term business planning
*Managing competing reporting deadlines and requirements across multiple entities
*Reviewing financial information and ensuring consistently high standards of accuracy
*Managing and supporting two qualified Accountants within the team
*Building strong relationships and delivering an excellent service to internal and external stakeholders.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking beyond their next move. With succession planning underway within the senior finance team, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop towards Head of Finance responsibility over the next 18 months, making this particularly attractive to an ambitious accountant ready to broaden their leadership experience.
Flexible hybrid working is available, potentially requiring office attendance as little as once per week, alongside an attractive benefits package and generous annual leave entitlement.
To be considered, please meet the following criteria:
*A recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
*Strong experience preparing statutory accounts
*Experience producing management accounts, budgets and financial reports
*Previous experience managing multiple clients, entities or reporting deadlines
*Strong interpersonal skills and a service-focused approach
*An understanding of the culture and financial challenges of the not-for-profit sector
A background in accountancy practice would be particularly advantageous, especially where this has included hands-on accounts preparation rather than solely external audit.
If you’re looking for a role combining technical accounting, people management and a genuine opportunity to progress into senior finance leadership, we’d love to hear from you.
