I’m currently recruiting for a Transport Planner Assistant to join a growing and busy logistics operation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in transport planning, as well as candidates who already have experience within transport, logistics, or planning environments.
Working closely with the Operations Manager, you’ll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day planning of HGV movements, ensuring deliveries are completed efficiently and customers receive an excellent level of service.
Working Hours
*Monday to Friday
*9-hour shifts including a 1-hour unpaid lunch break
*Typical hours are between 08:00/09:00 and 17:00/18:00
*Flexibility may be required to support operational demands
*For candidates with relevant industry experience, there may be opportunities to work extended 10-hour shifts with an increased salary
*Final working pattern and salary will be agreed based on experience and suitability
Key Responsibilities
*Assisting with daily HGV route planning and scheduling
*Liaising with drivers regarding routes, delays, and operational updates
*Handling customer enquiries and providing delivery updates
*Supporting the team in resolving transport and operational issues
*Updating transport management systems and maintaining accurate records
*Ensuring compliance with transport regulations and driver hours legislation

*Confidence communicating via phone and email
*Ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced environment
*A proactive and reliable approach to work
*Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail
*A willingness to learn and develop within the business
Experience
*Previous experience within transport, logistics, or planning would be beneficial
*However, full training will be provided for the right candidate with the right attitude and work ethic
