Are you a Psychology graduate looking to gain valuable experience supporting young people with social, emotional and mental health needs?
A Secondary SEMH School in Reading is looking for a caring and enthusiastic SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for aspiring Psychologists, Therapists, Counsellors or Teachers to gain hands-on experience in an SEMH setting.
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:
· Provide 1:1 and small group support to students.
· Support students with emotional regulation, confidence and engagement.
· Build positive and trusting relationships with young people.
· Work alongside teachers and pastoral staff to create a safe, supportive environment.
· Monitor students’ wellbeing, behaviour and progress.
We’re looking for an SEMH Teaching Assistant who is:
· Compassionate, patient and resilient.
· Passionate about supporting young people with SEMH needs.
· A confident communicator and positive role model.
· Interested in pursuing a career in psychology, education, therapy or mental health.
· Able to remain calm and supportive when managing challenging behaviour.
Job Details
· Location: Reading
· Setting: Secondary SEMH School
· Start Date: ASAP
· Pay: £93-£110 per day
· Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm
· Contract: Full-time
