Full job descriptionTechnical Services Manager
Location: Warwickshire (primarily site-based with travel to client locations)
Reporting To: Managing Director
Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing technical delivery capability, managing engineering resources, ensuring high standards of project execution, and maintaining compliance across health & safety, quality management systems, training, and operational performance. The role will work closely with senior leadership to support business growth, client satisfaction, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Technical & Operational Leadership
*Manage and develop the company’s technical delivery function and site-based engineering teams.
*Ensure projects and contracts are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and to the required quality standards.
*Develop, implement, and continuously improve operational processes and procedures.
Health, Safety & Compliance
*Promote and maintain a strong health and safety culture across the business.
*Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, company procedures, and industry standards.
*Support and oversee ISO management systems, training compliance, and operational best practice.
*Maintain a focus on continuous improvement across quality, safety, and technical delivery functions.
Client & Stakeholder Management
*Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients.
*Support key account management activities and contribute to long-term client retention.
Business Growth & Strategy
*Support business development activities for both existing and prospective clients.
*Contribute to strategic planning and operational growth initiatives.
*Assist in the development of new services and solutions to meet market demands.
*Work collaboratively with senior leadership to achieve business objectives and growth targets.
People Management
*Lead, motivate, and develop engineering and operational teams.
*Identify training and development requirements across the department.
Staff & Financial Responsibilities
Staff
*Leadership and management of engineering and technical delivery personnel.
*Oversight of health & safety, technical training, and workforce development activities.
*Support operational teams in achieving project and business objectives.
Financial
*Responsibility for operational financial performance across major projects.
*Contribute to cost control, budgeting, and project profitability

Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess:
*Proven experience in a Technical Services, Engineering Management, Operations Management or similar leadership role.
*Strong leadership and people management skills.
*Experience managing site-based engineering or technical teams.
*Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and quality management systems.
*Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management abilities.
