Commercial LeadUp to £600 per day (Umbrella) | Hybrid Working | 36 Hours per Week | Monday to Friday
3-Month Temporary Contract with Potential Extension
Adecco are recruiting on behalf of a London local authority for an experienced Commercial Lead to deliver significant procurement and commercial savings across a diverse portfolio of contracts and suppliers.
This is a hands-on role requiring a commercially astute professional who can identify opportunities, engage stakeholders, and deliver tangible, cashable savings through effective negotiation, contract management, and strategic procurement activity.
The RoleAs the Commercial Lead, you will be responsible for driving savings initiatives across contract renewals, supplier negotiations, spend consolidation, benchmarking exercises, and procurement opportunities. Working closely with finance teams and service areas, you will play a key role in supporting budget reduction targets and maximising commercial value.
Key Responsibilities*Analyse spend and supplier data to identify savings opportunities.
*Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers and external partners.
*Review contract renewals and support re-procurement activities.
*Drive spend consolidation initiatives across multiple service areas.
*Undertake benchmarking and market analysis to inform decision-making.
*Track, monitor and evidence savings delivered.
*Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of objectives.
About YouEssential*Significant public sector procurement and commercial experience.
*Proven track record of delivering measurable commercial savings.
*Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
*Experience in contract and supplier management.
*Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
*Ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders across finance and operational teams.
Desirable*Experience working within local government.
*CIPS qualification.
*Knowledge of procurement frameworks and framework agreements.
