Full job descriptionPrincipal Governance ManagerWe are seeking an experienced Principal Governance Manager to join a high-performing commercial function, leading governance, assurance and process improvement across a complex organisation.
This is a senior leadership role where you’ll drive governance best practice, oversee assurance activities, influence senior stakeholders and help shape commercial capability across the business.
Key Responsibilities*Lead governance, assurance and policy activities across the commercial function.
*Monitor compliance with commercial policies, governance frameworks and procurement regulations.
*Present findings, recommendations and assurance updates to senior leadership and Assurance Boards.
*Drive continuous improvement across governance processes and support the Integrated Assurance Pathway.
*Lead, coach and develop a multidisciplinary team, including permanent employees and contingent workers.
*Deliver training and capability initiatives to strengthen governance and commercial performance.
*Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the organisation.
About YouWe’re looking for someone who has:
*Significant experience in governance, assurance or commercial management.
*A strong understanding of public sector governance and procurement legislation, including PA23 and PCR2015.
*Knowledge of NEC contracts or experience supporting major infrastructure programmes.
*Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.
*The confidence to challenge constructively and manage complex stakeholder relationships.
*Experience leading, developing and mentoring teams.
Experience within a commercial or procurement environment is highly desirable, and candidates with both public and private sector experience are encouraged to apply. An MCIPS qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.
