Full job descriptionJob Role: Part Time Gardener Assistant
Hours of Work: 21 hours per week - Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 8am to 4pm. No weekends.
Location: Greenhithe, Kent
Salary: £15,000 per annum (part time)
Development Profile
The grounds to be maintained form part of a prestigious residential development. The role is to support the gardening team in maintaining the estate grounds, landscaped areas and communal spaces to a consistently high standard.
Duties and Responsibilities
*Assist the gardening team with the day-to-day maintenance of the estate grounds and landscaped areas.
*Maintain the estate grounds, communal areas and landscaped spaces to a high standard.
*Mow the grounds, trim edges and maintain all grassed areas to ensure a neat and professional appearance.
*Cut and maintain hedges and assist with pruning shrubs, plants and trees.
*Plant, water, weed, prune and maintain borders, shrubs, hedges and trees.
*Monitor plant health and report pests, diseases, damage, or other issues to the Head Gardener or Estate Manager.
*Apply fertilisers and approved plant treatments as directed and in accordance with safe working procedures.
*Operate gardening machinery, including ride-on mowers and other petrol/electric-powered equipment, safely and correctly.
*Maintain gardening tools, machinery, equipment and storage areas in a clean, safe, and organised condition.
*Ensure communal outdoor areas are kept clean and tidy, including the removal of litter, leaves and other debris.
*Support the cleaning of car park areas using specialist sweeping machinery.
*Drive site vehicles and trailers where required.
*Report maintenance issues, hazards, damaged landscape features, or safety concerns to the Head Gardener or Estate Manager.
*Follow all health and safety procedures, risk assessments, and safe working practices.
*Follow RAMS and ensure all work is carried out safely.
*Use personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly at all times.
*Provide courteous and professional assistance to residents, visitors, contractors and colleagues when required.
*Participate in training and development opportunities as required.
*Carry out any other reasonable grounds maintenance duties as directed by management to support the presentation and upkeep of the estate.
