Job Description:
Full job description We are looking for an experienced and commercially focused Head of Operations to lead and develop a high-performing operation within a growing, multi-business organisation. Significant experience within logistics, warehousing or 3PL is essential.
This is a senior leadership position with responsibility for driving operational excellence, scaling the operation and building the infrastructure, processes and capability required to support significant future growth.
The successful candidate will lead operational teams across warehousing and logistics, drive continuous improvement and productivity, and play a key role in the development of a new warehouse operation, automation and technology-led improvements.
Location: Nottingham
Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 (DOE) + 15% bonus
Benefits: 7% pension | Private Healthcare | 25 days holiday
Key Responsibilities
*Lead and develop high-performing operational and warehouse teams.
*Drive operational excellence across safety, quality, accuracy, service and performance.
*Develop and implement strategies to increase productivity and reduce cost-to-serve.
*Lead warehouse capacity planning, operational design and future growth initiatives.
*Drive the implementation and adoption of automation, robotics and technology.
*Develop scalable processes and operating models across multiple businesses/sites.
*Use operational data, ERP/WMS systems and KPIs to identify trends and drive improvements.
*Lead significant operational change while maintaining service and business continuity.
*Develop managers and build a strong operational leadership structure.
About You
*Significant experience within logistics, warehousing or 3PL is essential.
*Proven experience leading and scaling complex operations.
*Strong track record of delivering measurable improvements in productivity, efficiency and cost-to-serve.
*Experience of warehouse automation, robotics or technology-led operational improvements.
*Experience managing multi-site, multi-business or multi-brand operations.
*Strong knowledge of ERP/WMS systems and data-led operational management.
*Proven ability to lead change and develop high-performing operational teams.
*Commercially astute with a strong understanding of operational costs and customer service.
*Strategic and forward-thinking, with the ability to balance day-to-day delivery with future growth.
