Full job descriptionMarket 36 Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Manual Lathe Machinist to join a busy manufacturing environment. The role involves producing precision components from plastic and metal, working from technical drawings and specifications.
Roles & Responsibilities
*Operate manual lathes to manufacture precision components from plastic and metal.
*Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and CAD models.
*Set and adjust machinery, tooling and workpieces to required specifications.
*Carry out grinding, milling and assembly work where required.
*Use hand tools, power tools and machining equipment.
*Inspect components using verniers, micrometers and other measuring equipment.
*Ensure finished components meet required tolerances and quality standards.
*Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
About You
*Previous experience operating manual lathes.
*Strong understanding of machining principles and engineering drawings.
*Experience with grinding, milling and assembly.
*Good mechanical and problem-solving skills.
*Strong attention to detail.
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
*CAD/SolidWorks experience would be advantageous.
Salary & Hours
£16.50 – £19.50 per hour
Mon - Fri 8am - 4:30pm
