FryerMiles are working with a brilliant Defence consultancy to recruit an experienced Full Stack Developer for a 12 month contract supporting a major Defence Intelligence programme.
You will work within a multidisciplinary engineering team delivering a modern, secure solution combining user-centred design, workflow orchestration, cloud-native technologies and integration with existing MOD systems and tasking processes.
Key Responsibilities
*Design and develop full-stack applications using Python, TypeScript and React
*Build modern, intuitive and responsive front-end applications
*Develop scalable backend services, APIs and microservices
*Integrate applications with existing MOD systems and data sources
*Support the development of AI-enabled, knowledge and semantic search capabilities
*Develop workflow and tasking functionality to reduce manual processes
*Work alongside UX, platform, data and AI specialists
*Contribute to automated testing, code reviews and CI/CD
*Deliver high-quality, maintainable code within a secure Defence environment
Essential Experience
*Strong commercial experience as a Full Stack Developer / Software Engineer
*Strong Python development experience
*Strong TypeScript experience
*Strong React experience
*API and microservices development
*Experience with modern cloud-native development
*Git, automated testing and CI/CD
*Experience working within Agile multidisciplinary engineering teams
Experience with AI/ML, LLMs, RAG, semantic search, knowledge graphs, Docker, Kubernetes or Defence/National Security programmes would be advantageous.
Security Clearance
Candidates must hold active DV (Developed Vetting) clearance to be considered for this position.
