The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Purchasing Expeditor and Coordinator to join a growing business based in the Alton area. This role is pivotal in ensuring supplier deliveries are tracked, managed and expedited efficiently, helping maintain the flow of materials and supporting wider business operations.
Working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders, you will proactively monitor open purchase orders, chase deliveries, resolve supply issues and ensure accurate information is maintained within the company’s systems. The position offers excellent exposure to procurement and supply chain activities within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
*Monitor and manage open purchase orders to ensure supplier commitments are met.
*Proactively contact suppliers via phone, email and supplier portals to obtain delivery updates.
*Chase overdue orders, acknowledgements and outstanding delivery dates.
*Identify potential supply risks and escalate issues where necessary.
*Update ERP/MRP systems with accurate supplier information and confirmed delivery schedules.
*Produce and maintain open order reports for internal stakeholders.
*Support Buyers and the wider Purchasing team with day-to-day procurement activities.
*Maintain supplier records and purchasing documentation.
*Assist with supplier performance monitoring and continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
We are looking for an organised and proactive individual who enjoys building supplier relationships and has a keen eye for detail.
Essential Skills & Experience:
*Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
*Excellent organisational abilities with a high level of accuracy.
*Confident when liaising with suppliers and following up on commitments.
*Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
*Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
*Experience using ERP, MRP or purchasing systems.
Desirable
*Previous experience within purchasing, procurement or supply chain.
*Knowledge of purchasing and supply chain processes.
*Experience working within manufacturing, engineering or distribution environments.
