An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and qualified finance professional to join a growing international organisation as a UK Financial Controller within this leading pharmaceutical business. This is a broad and hands-on role offering responsibility across financial accounting, taxation, treasury, reporting, audit management, budgeting, and business support activities.
Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial operations while supporting strategic decision-making and maintaining compliance with UK financial and tax regulations.
Key Responsibilities
*Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
*Prepare financial statements in accordance with Local GAAP and IFRS.
*Manage corporate tax, VAT, withholding tax, and other statutory filings.
*Coordinate and manage external and internal audits.
*Oversee cash management, payment planning, and bank reconciliations.
*Maintain robust financial controls and ensure compliance with company policies.
*Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting activities.
*Provide financial insights and forecasts to support business planning and commercial decision-making.
*Act as the primary point of contact for finance-related enquiries.
*Support payroll accounting processes and related reporting requirements.
*Help drive continuous improvement across finance processes and systems.
About You
You will be a proactive, detail-oriented finance professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and is comfortable taking ownership of a broad finance remit.
Essential Requirements
*Qualified Accountant
*Post-qualification experience in the pharmaceutical sector is essential
*Strong knowledge of UK accounting principles, financial reporting, and taxation
*Experience preparing management accounts and statutory financial statements
*Experience of leading a small finance team
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills
*Exposure to ERP systems and international reporting environments.
