This role would suit someone who is confident in implementing the EYFS , supporting children’s individual development and working collaboratively with colleagues, families and other professionals.
About the Role
As a Qualified Early Years Educator, you will play an important role in providing high-quality care, learning and development opportunities for children.
You will work as part of a supportive team to create a safe, nurturing, inclusive and stimulating environment where every child is encouraged to develop their confidence, independence and skills.
Key Responsibilities
*Provide high-quality, inclusive care and education for children.
*Support the daily practice within the room, helping to maintain a consistent, nurturing environment.
*Plan and provide developmentally appropriate activities and experiences in line with theEYFS and Birth to Five Matters .
*Follow children’s individual interests, needs and stages of development when planning experiences.
*Complete meaningfulobservations, assessments and next steps , with a clear focus on children’s progress.
*Support children with SEND through appropriate strategies, targeted interventions and individualised approaches.
*Follow and contribute to individual support plans, includingSEN Support Plans , working closely with the Nursery SENDCo.
*Use strategies such asmodelling, scaffolding, visual supports and structured routines to support children’s learning and development.
*Support children’s communication, interaction, independence and emotional regulation.
*Build positive and professional relationships with children, parents, carers and colleagues.
*Work collaboratively with the wider nursery team to ensure inclusive practice is embedded consistently.
*Adapt activities and the learning environment to support children’s individual needs.
*Maintain high standards of safeguarding, health and safety and confidentiality.
*Contribute positively to the nursery environment and the wider team.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for a practitioner who is:
*Qualified to at least Level 3 in Early Years/Childcare - essential
*Experienced in working within an early years or nursery setting.
*Knowledgeable and passionate about theEYFS and child development .
*Experienced in supporting children with SEND or additional needs.
*Confident in using a range of strategies to support children’s learning and development.
*Patient, caring, enthusiastic and nurturing.
*A confident communicator and team player.
*Organised, reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team.
*Reflective and committed to continuously improving their practice.
*Passionate about creating positive outcomes for children and their families.
Essential Requirements
Level 3 Early Years/Childcare qualification
Minimum 2 years’ childcare experience
Strong knowledge of the EYFS and child development
Experience supporting children with SEND - desirable
Enhanced DBS - Update Service preferred
Paediatric First Aid - desirable
