Job overviewThe post holder will support the retinal and other teams in Ophthalmology services providing complex and high-quality clerical and administrative support. Scheduling and manage the Urgent eye clinic appointments., Retinal and Diabetic Injection appointments and Consultations.
The role requires competency in general administrative skills, Booking Knowledge, good IT knowledge of Cerner and with excellent communication skills and demonstrate an ability to work well within a team and form
Main duties of the jobResponsible for providing a confidential administrative service, which may involve dealing with complex and sensitive information and managing the reception desk/ window daily answering calls, making appointments, downloading referrals from ERS, Wet AMD email accounts and print for Triage etc., for nursing team and arranging appointments , ordering and setting up of Diabetic Macular and Retinal clinics and clinic set up and booking of Injection service and completing diagnostic forms.

Person specificationKnowledge , ExperienceEssential criteria**English language, and maths GCSE, business administration. ECDL/CLAIT or equivalent NVQ level 2 & 3 in Customer Care

Desirable criteria**NVQ level 2 & 3 in Customer Care * NVQ level 2 in Business & Admin

Knowledge and ExperienceEssential criteria**Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, Inc. Word, Excel, Outlook, Net Accounts, CERNER & EMIS Experience of accessing internet/email systems. Previous experience of working within a team. * Previous experience of working in a customer care environment and dealing with difficult/sensitive situations Face to Face and over the telephone.

Desirable criteria**Experience in the hospital Patient Administration System EMIS, CERNER, MEDISIGHT
