One LSC is a new collaborative partnership shared service formed by the five NHS Trusts serving the Lancashire and South Cumbria population of 1.8 million people. We are a shared service run by the NHS, for the NHS and are hosted by East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust on behalf of the partner Trusts of the Lancashire and South Cumbria system.
One LSC stands for ’One Lancashire and South Cumbria’ and reflects the Lancashire and South Cumbria System ambition to have one team serving Lancashire and South Cumbria in a joined-up way. It is jointly run by the five Trusts as a collaborative partnership.

One LSC brings together the Digital, Data and Technology, Estates and Facilities, Finance, People Services and Procurement and Logistics services from each of the provider Trusts to create one central community of professionals. Under one leadership team, they will provide services for and on behalf of all Trusts.
The aim is to bring services more closely together so that we can deliver the best service possible to each of our partner organisations. At the core of One LSC delivery is eliminating duplication, removing unwarranted variation, realisation of the benefits of sharing common systems and processes and ensuring we deliver value for money for our partners, our system and, ultimately, for the communities we serve.
Job overviewProvide a comprehensive and efficient Health Records service, including storage, tracking, retrieval and destruction of all records whilst maintaining data quality and training plans, ensuring confidentiality at all times.
Main duties of the jobMaintain safe working areas in accordance with Health & Safety guidelines, reporting any faulty equipment and participating in weekly fire inspections and risk assessments.Be responsible for library maintenance including housekeeping duties.Ensure the weeding, culling and destruction process is routinely maintained in accordance with national guidelines.Ensure accurate and timely delivery of case notes for patients attending clinics, admissions or for any department requiring access.Participate in audits when required and take appropriate action.Access Summary Care Record service to maintain accurate patient details.Manage offsite storage procedures, liaising with external agencies.Be aware of and available for Major Incident procedures.Provide cover for the Assistant Health Records Manager as required.Be flexible to cover evenings, weekends and other service needs.Undertake return to work interviews / Stage 1 sickness absence meetings and manage short-term absence.Provide
support or cover across sites.
Working for our organisationOur Health Records Service plays a vital role in supporting frontline clinical teams by ensuring patient information is accurate, accessible and managed securely. Health Records Supervisors are key to this, leading teams to deliver an efficient records management service across multiple sites, supporting both operational delivery and the Trust’s ongoing move towards a digital Electronic Patient Record (EPR) environment.
Detailed job description and main responsibilitiesThe Health Records Supervisor will support the day-to-day operational management of the Health Records service, ensuring the safe, efficient and effective handling of patient records across Trust sites. The post holder will also provide support to the Assistant Health Records Manager in delivering service objectives and maintaining high standards of performance.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Service Delivery
*Support the delivery of an effective Health Records service, including the storage, tracking, retrieval and secure destruction of records in line with Trust procedures.
*Ensure the timely provision of patient records to support outpatient clinics, admissions and other clinical services.
*Maintain data quality within the Electronic Patient Record (EPR) by identifying and resolving duplicate records.
*Liaise with offsite storage providers to ensure records are available when required.
*Follow Major Incident procedures as required.
Supervision and Team Support
*Provide day-to-day supervision and guidance to Health Records staff.
*Assist in allocating and monitoring workload to ensure service delivery is maintained.
*Support rota coordination to maintain appropriate staffing levels.
*Undertake return-to-work interviews and support the management of sickness absence in line with Trust policy.
*Support the Assistant Health Records Manager and deputise in their absence where appropriate.
Training and Service Improvement
*Support the delivery of training to ensure staff are competent in operational procedures and use of the EPR.
*Assist in the induction and ongoing development of staff.
*Participate in service improvements and support the implementation of new processes and systems.
*Contribute to audits and support actions to improve service quality.
Communication and Customer Service
*Respond to enquiries from clinical teams, patients and external organisations in a professional manner.
*Support effective communication within the team, including team briefings and updates.
*Assist in the management of complaints in line with Trust procedures.
*Escalate issues to the Assistant Health Records Manager where required.
Governance and Compliance
*Ensure compliance with confidentiality, data protection and information governance policies.
*Maintain safe working practices in line with Health & Safety requirements.
*Support adherence to infection prevention, safeguarding and risk management policies....
