Full job descriptionPart-Time Finance & Payroll Administrator
Hoot Recruit | 16–20 hours per week | Flexible hours
Hoot Recruit is looking for an organised, reliable and detail-focused Part-Time Finance & Payroll Administrator to join our team.
This is a key behind-the-scenes role within our recruitment business. You’ll help make sure our temporary workers are paid correctly and on time, timesheets are received and processed, clients are invoiced accurately, and our day-to-day finance administration stays firmly under control.
We’re looking for someone who is comfortable working with numbers, deadlines and detail — and who is happy to take ownership of their area rather than needing to be chased.
What you’ll be doing
Your responsibilities will include:
*Managing and processing weekly temporary worker timesheets
*Chasing outstanding or missing timesheets ahead of payroll deadlines
*Checking hours, rates and information for accuracy
*Preparing weekly payroll information for our temporary workforce
*Supporting PAYE and CIS payroll administration
*Raising and sending client invoices
*Reconciling timesheets, payroll, invoices and incoming payments
*Monitoring outstanding invoices and assisting with credit control
*Processing and keeping track of company and supplier payments
*Maintaining accurate finance and payroll records
*Supporting general bookkeeping and finance administration
*Keeping internal systems and spreadsheets accurate and up to date
*Liaising professionally with temporary workers, clients and the wider Hoot Recruit team
*Providing general administrative support when required
About you
You don’t necessarily need to have worked within recruitment before, but experience in payroll, accounts, bookkeeping or finance administration would be a real advantage.
You’ll ideally have:
*Previous finance, payroll, accounts or administrative experience
*Strong numerical skills and excellent attention to detail
*Experience processing timesheets and/or payroll
*An understanding of PAYE and CIS would be advantageous
*Experience using Xero would be a big plus
*Good Excel and general IT skills
*The confidence to chase missing information and outstanding payments when needed
*Excellent organisation and the ability to work to weekly deadlines
*A professional and friendly communication style
*The ability to work independently and take ownership of your responsibilities
Most importantly, we’re looking for someone dependable who enjoys keeping things organised and takes pride in getting the details right.
Hours
16–20 hours per week, with flexibility around how those hours are worked.
This could suit an experienced finance, payroll or accounts administrator looking for a part-time role with genuine responsibility and flexibility.
Why Hoot Recruit?
You’ll be joining a friendly, growing recruitment business where your contribution will make a real difference to the day-to-day running of the company.
The role is varied, you’ll have plenty of autonomy, and you’ll become an important part of making sure our candidates, temporary workers, clients and internal team receive a great service.
