Full job descriptionSecurity & Pastoral Officer
Location: Rotherham
Job Type: Temporary (3 Month Contract initially - with the potential to be extended
Working Hours: Full Time
Salary: Competitive hourly rate (dependent on experience)
The RoleWe are seeking a Security & Pastoral Officer to join a Further Education college in Rotherham on an initial 3-month temporary contract. Working across the campus, you will help ensure a safe and secure environment while providing support to students, including young and vulnerable learners.
Key Responsibilities*Maintain a safe, secure and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors.
*Monitor and patrol campus buildings and grounds.
*Respond effectively to incidents, safeguarding concerns and emergency situations.
*Operate CCTV systems and complete incident reports as required.
*Support students with pastoral issues, welfare concerns and behavioural matters.
*Liaise with safeguarding, student services and curriculum teams when appropriate.
*Ensure compliance with site security procedures and health & safety regulations.
*Provide excellent customer service and act as a professional ambassador for the organisation.
Requirements*Previous experience working within a security role.
*Experience working within an educational setting and/or with young people and vulnerable individuals.
*Valid SIA Licence.
*CCTV Operator qualification/licence.
*Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
*Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
*Understanding of safeguarding principles is highly desirable.
Working HoursThe role will involve a rota of shifts including:
*Early Shift: 08:00 - 16:30
*Late Shift: 10:00 - 18:00
*Occasional later shifts depending on business requirements.
