Job Description:
Full job descriptionOur client is a well-established, FCA-regulated consumer credit company and a market leader in its field. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit a professional and empathetic Debt Collector to join their team based in North London.
Key Responsibilities:*Manage a portfolio of overdue customer accounts and outstanding debts.
*Make regular inbound and outbound calls to customers regarding overdue payments.
*Proactively pursue outstanding balances and maximise debt recovery.
*Negotiate affordable and sustainable repayment plans with customers.
*Deal sensitively and professionally with customers experiencing financial difficulties.
*Monitor repayment arrangements and follow up on missed or overdue payments.
*Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all customer contact and collection activity.
*Ensure all collection activity complies with FCA regulations, Consumer Duty, company policies and data protection requirements.
*Escalate accounts where appropriate and liaise with internal departments and external parties as required.
Key Requirements:*Previous experience in debt collection, arrears management or credit control, ideally within consumer finance or financial services.
*Confident and professional telephone manner with strong negotiation and influencing skills.
*Experience using CRM systems and maintaining accurate records.
*Good understanding of FCA regulations, Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) and Consumer Duty.
